Yet

I wrote this song during one of the hardest and darkest points of my life. And honestly, it was a moment where I hadn’t approached God in honest prayer in a long time because I was afraid. ’cause I felt like I had to have my life all put together and I had to be this perfect version to myself to approach him.

And I just felt so far off from that. But I just got to a point where I just fell to my knees and I remember just sobbing and saying, God, please don’t give up on me. And so the song. Was actually the first honest prayer I had said to God in a while. And in that moment, it was the coolest experience where I felt like I was co-writing the song with God, like he was giving me the words that I was so afraid to say to him.

And that honestly, I couldn’t even find because I wasn’t being honest enough with myself. And so I just hope that anyone that hears this song, especially if they’re feeling broken, or if they’re feeling alone, or if they’re in hiding of any sort from either from God or from themselves or from the people closest to them, that they will just know that we are children of a God who loves us unconditionally, and his love is unfailing, and there is nothing that you can do and nowhere that you could go where his love won’t reach you.

And this song to me is a reminder of that. And so I hope anybody that listens to this song just has an encounter with God and with his perfect love.
