“This is How I Thank the Lord” is an anthem of gratitude. It was written during a time of significant global uncertainty, when the future seemed especially unclear. With the world seemingly falling apart, none of us expected that one of the prevailing themes of this song and our new album would be gratitude.
We discovered that maybe gratitude is exactly what we need when life gets really hard, or when it seems like all is in disarray. Paul writes in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances.”
Giving thanks in all circumstances is not easy, but Paul recognizes it is necessary in order for us to keep our perspective fixed in Jesus, not getting discouraged or distracted by what is happening around us. We hope that “This Is How I Thank The Lord” becomes a consistent prayer in your life, a place you can turn to remember the power and possibility of gratitude.”
