“Sometimes we wake up to our life and it feels like we are in the dark. It feels like we have fallen so far and we’re not even sure how to make our way back up.
And what do we do in these situations and why do we even get in these situations? Paul says in Romans — I’m doing the things I don’t want to do, and the things I want to do, I don’t do. And we’re caught in this tug of war and sometimes it feels like we’re our own worst enemy.
One thing I know for sure, I’m not perfect. I’ve been there and sometimes I return there and I get frustrated at myself, but I know that I am actually not the light. All I can do is reach for it. I’m a human being and God is the light; Jesus is the light of the world, the One that lights up the darkness that sometimes we find ourselves in. And sometimes we just have to admit it and say, “You know what? I need help. I need to reach for the light.””
