The Song Story
The inspiration for “Passing Through” came straight from 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 which reminds us that everything we face here is temporary, and preparing us for an eternity in heaven.
“Passing Through” has been important to me recently, as it gives me encouragement through my trials, as well as reminding me of what God has waiting for me at the end.
I hope this song is able to encourage others to press on no matter our circumstance, and rejoice in knowing that the Lord has prepared a place for us!
“Passing Through” has been one of my absolute favorite songs to play on the road, and it brings me so much joy to connect with people and their stories about how this song speaks to them!

About the Artist
Warren Peay
Warren Peay is an artist from the small town of Bamberg, South Carolina, whose powerful voice and unwavering faith have carried him from local church stages to national audiences. Known for his soul-stirring delivery, heartfelt storytelling, and humble authenticity, Warren’s music is rooted in a deep desire to glorify God and bring people together through praise.
Warren first gained widespread recognition as a Top 8 finalist on American Idol Season 21 (2023), where he captivated viewers with performances marked by emotional honesty and spiritual conviction. His time on Idol became less about recognition and more about faithfully stewarding the platform he had been given.
Long before American Idol, Warren was leading worship and honing his craft within church communities, learning firsthand the power of music to uplift, heal, and unify. Those early experiences continue to shape his artistry today. His songs are built from lived faith in moments of perseverance, surrender, gratitude, and praise, offering listeners encouragement and a reminder that God meets us in every season, whether we feel strong or worn down.
Warren’s career has continued to gain momentum. He was featured on Zach Williams’ “Sunday’s Comin’,” a collaboration that naturally aligned with his faith-forward sound and message. Warren’s live performances are marked by warmth, joy, and community. Whether performing on a festival stage or in a church sanctuary, he invites everyone in the room to participate.
In 2026, Warren stepped into a defining new chapter both personally and professionally. As a first-time father to a baby girl, his sense of calling, faith, and legacy have deepened, further shaping the heart behind his music and ministry. That growth is reflected in a new season of releases, including “Passing Through.”

Got my eyes fixed on heaven
And I’ll be there someday soon
This ol’ world ain’t my home
No, I’m just passing through
My soul gets weary
And my feet get tired
The hurt gets heavy
Mile after mile
But I’ll keep on walking
This narrow road
Till I trade my sorrows
For streets of gold
Got my eyes fixed on heaven
And I’ll be there someday soon
This ol’ world ain’t my home
No, I’m just passing through
Yeah this life is full of trouble
But good Lord, I got good news
This old world ain’t my home
No, I’m just passing through
This old world ain’t my home
No, I’m just passing through
The end is coming
To my traveling days
I’ll set my bags down
And I’ll fly away
To see my savior
Arms open wide
And I’ll be rejoicing
In that by and by
Got my eyes fixed on heaven
And I’ll be there someday soon
This ol’ world ain’t my home
No, I’m just passing through
Yeah this life is full of trouble
But good Lord, I got good news
This old world ain’t my home
No, I’m just passing through
This old world ain’t my home
No, I’m just passing through
I know where I am going
My tears and pain no more
I’ll cross that river Jordan
And land on that heavenly shore
I’ll sing a hallelujah
I’ve never sung before
I’ll cross that river Jordan
And land on that heavenly shore
Got my eyes fixed on heaven
And I’ll be there someday soon
This ol’ world ain’t my home
No, I’m just passing through
Yeah this life is full of trouble
But good Lord, I got good news
This old world ain’t my home
No, I’m just passing through
This old world ain’t my home
No, I’m just passing through
