About the Artist
We Are Messengers
We are Messengers are fronted by Darren Mulligan, a single minded Irish man who writes rock n’ roll anthems and intimate earthly psalms for messy broken people. The goal has always been to engage culture in conversation about the goodness of God and to put words and melody to some of the hardest things we feel as humans. This is a band that understands and loves the outsiders, the marginalized, the lost and the least.
We Are Messengers have built a career, the old fashioned way, on the road touring relentlessly around the USA, Europe and beyond. They have had 11 consecutive top 10 radio singles including the multi chart #1 hit song “Come What May” and the Gold certified “Maybe Its OK’.
Collaboration has been a cornerstone of We Are Messengers distinctive sound. In 2020 country legend Vince Gill joined the band on a one take stripped back version of “Image of God” captured live and acoustic at Vince’s place. Features by Cory Asbury, Josh Baldwin, Naomi Raine of Maverick City and Christian Hip Hop legend KB have followed.

The Lyrics
“When the ground beneath my feet
Is shaking like a leaf
God You’re still good to me
When my hope is all but gone
And I’m barely hanging on
God You’re still good to me
When my heart can’t find the beat
When its dark and I can’t see
I will put my hope in You
I’ll trade ashes for beauty
I’ll trade joy for my mourning
I’ll trade to God be the glory
To God be the glory
I’ll trade strength for my weakness
I’ll trade pain for my healing
I’ll trade let this be my story
To God be the glory
You love me at my best
You love me in my mess
God You’re so good to me
There’s one thing I am sure
Your promises endure
You make a way for me
When my heart can’t find the beat
When its dark and I can’t see
I will put my hope in You
I’ll trade ashes for beauty
I’ll trade joy for my mourning
I’ll trade to God be the glory
To God be the glory
I’ll trade strength for my weakness
I’ll trade pain for my healing
I’ll trade let this be my story
To God be the glory
To God be the glory
And whatever comes my way
I will always praise Your name
I will put my hope in You
When I run into Your courts
I will fall into Your arms
I will sing a song of praise
I’ll trade ashes for beauty
I’ll trade joy for my mourning
I’ll trade to God be the glory (forever and ever)
To God be the glory
I’ll trade strength for my weakness
I’ll trade pain for my healing
I’ll trade let this be my story (forever and ever)
To God be the glory
I’ll trade ashes for beauty
I’ll trade joy for my mourning
I’ll trade to God be the glory
To God be the glory
I’ll trade strength for my weakness
I’ll trade pain for my healing
I’ll trade let this be my story
Let this be my story
To God be the glory”
