Burn The Ships

Hi, this is Luke with for King and Country, and this is the story behind our song Burn the Ships.

Several years ago, my wife walked through a season where she’d accidentally become addicted to pills and having walked through that journey with her. There was so much shame and so much guilt in the aftermath. One of the things I wanted to say to her was you can leave the past behind. Your past doesn’t have to define your future. That’s really what this song, Burn the Ships, is about. It is about leaving the past behind and understanding that God has a much brighter future ahead.

I encourage you to find out whatever it is in your life that is holding you back, and the thing I would say to you is this. Go and burn the ships.
