“God Be The Glory” is connecting on a DEEP level with people but it’s connecting in a way you might not expect. Christian Radio is conditioned to research, research, research. We research hooks to see if people know them and love them and we often miss the most emotional and connective bits of the song. Sometimes that’s the first verse. Sometimes that’s the bridge.
In the case of We Are Messengers latest offering to radio, the song blew up on TikTok with over 1M views recently. What connected? The words of the first verse…

No payoff. No “big” emotional chorus. No energy. Just deep, heartfelt lyrics that people connect to at a high level and want to share with others. Sometimes, it helps to take a step back and realize that the audience often connects with music in a different way than you do as a programmer. The audience desperately wants and needs authenticity. They connect with the words, not just the energy and vibe of the song. This is a great example!
